Dr. Dan Wang is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Hotel & Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research focuses on the impact of mobile Internet on tourists and organizations in tourism and hospitality fields, information technology-based service innovation, and IT strategy in hospitality firms. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. Dr. Dan Wang has extensive experience in delivering courses and executive level training sessions regarding information technology and innovation in tourism and hospitality. She also provides consulting services for ICT innovation strategies in tourism and hospitality industry. Dr. Dan Wang currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Technology and Tourism.
Dr. Dan Wang began her career in academia as a part-time instructor of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University in the United States in 2010, and she moved to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Wang worked in the National Laboratory for Tourism & eCommerce (NLTeC) as co-investigator for several research projects cooperating with the U.S. Travel Association (USTA). She gained experience in the projects related to information technology and travel information service, mobile marketing in tourism and hospitality, and the impact of new media on tourist behavior.
